Cut your chains down and put them on the front wheels. I have a Kubota B2150 with no clearance for chains on the rear. I have used chains on the front for the last 4 winters to move snow with the FEL and to skid logs in the woods for firewood. That is all you need if you have 4wd, you didn't say! If it is just a 2wd lawn tractor forget what I said, and break down and buy new (double spaced) chains that fit and figure a way to add weight to the rear of the tractor, unless you weigh 300# LOL.
