Howdy,
Was using dad's 2010 5055E John Deere to bushhog some cornstalks today and started to have some issues. The tractor began to lose rpms (maybe 200-500 below pto speed) but would come back up to previous level and stay. I could go on for a bit and it would do it again and then again, more frequently. Finally it did this and the rpms fell down to a little lower level and the stack started blowing blue smoke. A drop back to engine idle at the shop cut the smoke out. I checked things over to see if anything obvious was wrong but nothing was. I ran it again and it worked fine. So I took it back to the field a bit more. It ran fine for a good bit and then did the same process over again. It's more newfangled than I'm used to (normally run two cylinder tractors) so I could use some ideas to check from. God bless.
