Absolute nonsense interpretation fed by NRA. The UN resolution is trying to stop military arms trades in places like DRC/Rwanda etc that have civil war and massacres every few years. They are not trying to interfere with private arms ownership in the US.
The goal is reducing fighting elsewhere in the world, not everywhere has enough land and stable past to just give everyone AK's and tell them to sort it out diplomatically.
