I have a pair of Marlin XS-7s I bought two years ago. One is stainless steel in .308 the other is a blued youth model in .243. They are basically Savage 110s (a very nice gun in its own right) with the accu-trigger. I paid $305 for the .243 and $345 for the .308. Both are very nice shooting guns and very accurate. My 10 year old shoots the .243, long range with a fairly flat tagectory. Great for everything from groundhogs to deer. Probably not my first choice for shooting hogs.
I bought a laminated stock for the .308 from Boyds - makes it look great and adds to the comfort of shooting it.
