Rub the points with a piece of 320 wet or dry until they're shiny then see if you have fire to your plugs. If you have a distributor you need to to use a volt meter or test lite to see if you have battery voltage to your coil. With the points open you should have voltage on both terminals when your ignition switch is on. If there's no voltage run a separate wire from your battery to your coil then see if the tractor will start. If it starts you need to check for voltage to your switch could be a broken wire. You shouldn't throw on new parts until you do a few checks. Hal
