I had a CA and a set of SC plows just like yours.... hate to admit it, since I am now a...90%.. fergie man... but I never had a combo that plowed better. Always straight level and rolled every inch of rootbound mud. Yes, these AC's are? just feel? dangerously light in the front. Belly weights, front weights, whatever it takes, and first gear with the throttle open worked best for my dirt, but that thing earned her keep, so did the plow.
I thought I would sell it to an antique collector who wouldn't want the plow, tool bar etc- in 6 hours on craigslist a family with a few hundred acres bought it to cultivate corn and tobacco, and plow the dumb little spots like you just did. These things will never be obsolete, just keep our fingers crossed for the future of parts. I bet the push rod was just loose tappets that just got a little looser with that workout.... good luck with her!
