I love to hear stories like that,In Pa the neighbor family still gets together for the potato harvest,and when the sweetcorn patch ripens,When the corn is ripe,they all get together shucking,and a big pot of water is heated outside,and the corn is cut off the cob snd put in freezer bags, Its not the part of saving money ,its the part of getting together as a family that I think is the best! There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard.
