I did that exact thing on my 841. Bought the pipes and muffler for a 841D from Central tractor. (Think they changed names but are still around.) Moves the muffler out from under the hood. I had problems with the fuel boiling in the tank. Got rid of the muffler under the tank and no more troubles. No hole in hood for exhaust but does require you drill a hole on the outside lip of the hood for a mounting bracket.
