I wouldn't worry too much about original parts from a dealer becoming discontinued. When I.H.'s farm division was still in operation, they had more orphans than you could shake a stick at, as young as 20 years old. Yet,the numbers of old Farmalls and other equipment are slowly increasing because of people continuously rescuing them from fence-rows. How is this possible without parts support? You can bet it has nothing to do with CNH, or whatever their name is this month. It is because where there's a will, there's a way. If CNH BLUE ceased all parts support for 9700s tomorrow, I wouldn't find it much more than an inconvenience. Who is going to pay $1850 for a cab headliner anyway? I took it to an upholstery shop and had it fixed for $300, with better material. What I'm taking a rather long time to say is if you use your classic tractors regularly, wean yourself from the dealer as much as possible. They are not what they used to be.

How can I explain the sensation and exhilaration I feel when I turn the key and hear the engine come to life (most
