Not so much crooked but most here will not tell you results of an auction they recently did. One told me "It's a matter of privacy for the seller." Are you telling me the hundred or so people in the crowd at the sale are not going to talk about it with friends and neighbors? Some auctioneers have a good following here and some do not. One guy a couple of years ago took a bath on a sale he had because the service he used did not have much of a following in larger later model equipment. A few I would guess use ringers to push the price up. One auctioneer who I suspect comes on here is pretty crappy if you call and want info on a piece coming up at a sale. I don't go to his sales.
