With all the money thrown at land owners in the Chesapeake Bay watershed, and the natural gas boom in PA, I can't imagine there are very many bargains to be had. I'm about as far north as LJD, but farther west, in southern Cayuga county. You would be lucky to get a decent 4 bedroom house here for $150,000. Open land $6000/acre. Woodland a third of open land. BUT- Real estate is all about location. You can travel a few miles and find a totally different picture. I'm sure what you would like is out there. The question is being able to find it. There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard.
