I'm not selling and here's why. I am thinking the dollar may pluge in value so why have money in the bank to have it buy less after we hit bottom. I have a cash account within my IRA that I can put the cash in until I want to reinvest or take the money. The stock will likly lose value but it's not a matter of how to prevent lose but which way will you lose the least. #1. Stay in stocks and bonds #2. Convert to cash #3. Pull it all out,pay taxes on it then buy land, tractors, gold or marbles hoping they hold value. This much is fact. The so called financial advisor doesn't have the answer be cause I talked to him when I put proceeds from my 401k in the IRA about investing so my investment tracks land. NO,No,no he says, realestate is the worst investment ever. I felt/feel a substitute for land isn't likly to be invented soon and no more is being made so it should remain in demand. I'm not so sure but that "the anointed one"will figure out a way to jerk the rug out and devide land up amoungest the citizens as he see'es fit. I pushed my kids to become all they were capiable of. I'm thinking it might be wise to concentrate on teaching the grandkids how to "play the system" depending on public support plus run a cottage industry beneath the radar. Please note the political correctness of "cottage industry"in place of keeping hoos and peddeling drugs. Do I plan to sell? Probably give it away instaed, wherther I want to or not.
