Cost aside, I was always nervous doing split rims on trucks. Had a real nice, stout cage, but just the same, the thought of having one come apart always bothered me, and I always took a wire brush to the rim and snap ring collar before putting them together and inflating. Never had one seperate, but was always nervous about having one blow, have the snap ring bounce around in the cage and loose a hand or fingers before knew it happened. Do I miss split rims? Made the day more exciting, I will give them that.
