I never meant to imply the 60s cars were better. I am merely attempting to drive home the fact that if we could achieve 20 to 25 miles per gallon in a car equipped with a carburetor and non-electronic ignition, then that same car, equipped with electronic fuel injection, electronic ignition, computer controlled auto trans with over-drive, should be able to achieve much more than just another 3 to 5 miles per gallon. SHOULD be able to get an easy 40 miles per gallon.
And by the way, I was born in 1951. I know quite a bit about those 60s cars.
