I need a new auger to fill my grain bin.
I have a 6 ring 18' dia grain bin. I believe that the auger that i have now is 42' but I believe I could go shorter but the question is how much shorter?
I would just be happy to buy a used 40' auger but around here (Louisville KY area) all I can find are ones approx. 30' and then it jumps to 50 to70'.
My two questions are: is there a standard minimum length auger needed for a very standard size 6 ring, 18' dia grainbin?
Second, can sections be easily added or removed from most common augers?
