My tractor threw a rod and I had to get another block. I had a 172 diesel block. The block I got to replace it was Conn6015J. Obviously this was a gas block because when I went to mount my balance gear to mate up with my crank one hole was not bore deep enough and it didn't have a hole on the other side period. So I took it to the machine shop and they bored and tapped it for me.
I thought my problems were over but when I went to put the head on the bolts do not work, mu block is 5/16s and my old head bolts are 7/16s and the holes that are in the block line up but my head has other holes that are not in the block. Please advise on what I should at this point. If I bore the existing holes from 5/16s to 7/16s and bore additional holes so the head will work, will my rocker arm assembly work valves work right/ etc.?
