Good question.
I've had a hotmail account for over a decade, they sure have been silly at times, and software changes have been stupid at times. No one likes them, I see them made fun of all the time.
On the other hand, I still have every email on their server, can search them, including photos, I got hacked a yar ago & they offered a path to get back and get restored. They don't seem to be as greedy and intrusive as Google and Facebook - I'm sure I'm cookie'd to death and such, but they haven't offered to use my info in their sales ads like Facebook just did, etc. back a decade ago hotmail didn't have much of a user agreement; I've probably been re-agreed several times over without knowing it.
I don't know too much about the rest. gmail is highly popular, but their licence agreement just icked me when I looked into signing up.
