In all reality no more, or less safe than the last time you were here. Most of it is talk and people(including me sometimes) getting a little wound up. When you consider how many guns, owners, crazies, criminals you are dealing with yur odds are actually pretty good of not being involved in one of these cases. That being said however there were a lot of cases a few years ago of carjackers in Florida targeting rental cars, since they were probably travellers with cash on them. In the words of the author Louis L'amour, "when guns are outlawed then only outlaws will have guns. If you look at the situation in Mexico it kinda proves the point. More importantly society is the factor, it seems to me their society is more tolerant of corruption and that is the big difference. IMHO
