We have a "98 with the 318 ci. V-8 and full time 4 wheel transfer case.We bought it one year old with 30 K miles on it.Needless to say its not the best on mileage.Currently gets 16-18 mpg on the highway if driven conservatively. Not the best riding vehicle we have had, but with good mud-snow tires it will go places that my 4W drive Dodge and Chevy pickups can"t.ABS lite will come on for a while if roads are real sloppy with snow. Odometer now reads something like a hundred thousand thirty three.Have put four set of pads-rotors on front and three on back. Two water pumps, idler and tension pulleys and belts. Two mufflers, tail pipes, ball joints drag link, couple set of shocks.Had to R&R the transfer case to replace a seal on output shaft of transmission, two years ago.Wife drive it 99% of the time and she is not easy on it.Overall would say it has been a good vehicle. All the parts replaced were just stuff that wears out on any vehicle. If we could go back and start again, should have gone with the other transfer case that had 2W high range in addition to the 4W high and low that ours has.Probably the V-6 engine would have given better mileage too.
