Our recommended planting dates for a fall crop of tomatoes are 6/1 to 7/1 Since Austrailan is a big country that covers alot of climate zones they could be starting a fall crop. LOL!!!!!!!!!
But really or spring dates for starting tomato seeds are 1/1 to 3/15 but I could not see planting corn that early. 2/15 might work but not anything in January. I think the almanac goes on moon stages and what crop (above or below ground) would work on what dates. It is up to you to decide what month to use based on your climate zone.
