: Try a non-tetraethyl lead product by the name of CD-2, or it's equivalent. It is designed to lubricate and prevent damage to soft valve seats. I have found it to be satisfactory in a number of old cars and know of several people using it in vintage road racing cars. A lot cheaper than replacing valve seats, and MUCH safer than handling lead additives. Available at Pep Boy's stores on the East coast. Mike
