I had a feral cat bite thru my thumbnail about 3 years ago when I was trying to get her in a cage to take her in to get spayed. The vet told me cat bites are worse than dog....anyway I didn't go to a doctor and it seemed to heal ok (eventually lost the nail). Anyway, a while later I developed a calouse on my thumb and then it started peeling and eventually peeled all the skin off to the first knuckle. Now it does the same thing about 4 or 5 times a year....kinda like a blister does. I've mentioned it to a Dr and no one seems to know what causes it. Guess I am lucky it isn't worse.....just started peeling again today.....
