I don't know. In the mid 90's my BIL wanted to go to a larger tractor but didn't want to spend any real money. He paid 5500 for a 1566IH with extra fuel tanks, front weights and decent rubber. PO had reciepts for a TA less than 100 hours before. It was his prime tillage tractor for 6 years. Only reasonhe got rid of it was because he wanted one of his boys to stay on the farm and the one willing wanted an 86 series IH. Then last 2 years they bought an AC 8070 MFW with a nice Koyker loader on it. The tight wad part bit again that's why he got it. Paid real close to 20K for it. It cost his an extra 10K for a major engine overhaul and now is back in for something with the tranny. Man that sure wasn't a good deal. On the other hand I got a 1206 IH for 4500. So far I've got about 1200 into a clutch job including a new rear engine seal, along with a new IPTO shaft and related bearings and seals and another 300 into a new MCV pump that will go in tomorrow. Have had it going on 4 years. Now what's cheap?

The year was about 1967 and my father found a good used Ford 601 tractor to use on the farm instead of "Bob", our old mule. Now my grandfather had had this mule since the mid 40's and he was getting some age on him. S
