Thats me on a sears scooter, I was around 12 or 13 ,bought it for 85 dollars, took a long time to save up for it, It was a great machine,3 speeds, pull in the clutch and twist the handle bar to shift it on the left side of the handlebar, the other handlebar was the throttle, Had to mix the gas with 2 cycle oil. I used to stay with the neighbors for a week during the summer,The state police pulled me over for riding on the main road and I told them where I was staying,He said go there now, then he talked to the neighbor, told me to drive only on the back dirt roads and stay off the main blacktop road. The farmer I stayed with has since passed away,so has my dad and mom,He used to farm our farm for my dad,Now his grandson farms the land, his grandma is still alive,She is the lady who taught me how to plant potatoes and turnips, and always tells me to come eat at her house before I head back to nj,She is like a second mom to me.Their farm is the farm in the valley below our old shed,I have posted many pictures of it , It was and still is great to go there ,everytime I go there I get a great feeling, that is probably why I post so many pictures of the area,Sorry for being so long winded, the picture of the scooter got me started. The farmers grandson still uses his grandfathers Olivers,I have posted many pictures of them too.
