From the post below...When I turned 16 my father went and bought 'me' a '62 Pontiac Catalina.He pd $200..4 door.389 2bbl;auto;power windows...."grandma car",HATED it.I drove it till Ibought my CL175 Honda motorcycle.The car stayed till my brother got his liscence,he drove it till he bought a Scout....Then my sister drove it-for years(she loved that car!Named it 'Sally').She wrecked it 4 times.insurance company 'totaled'it all three!First time:She got t-boned.Dad pd the ins $50.We visitedthe local salvage yard.$60 and a long day,we had that car back together.The 'parts donor was the EXACT color(red).Next time,a high schoolkid backed into her.Buy back for $50.Back to the the salvage yard.$75.This time the parts were blue.Next time another HS kid backed into her again.The kid gave Dad $300 to not call the cops.Back to the salvage yard.This time the parts(grill,bumper....)were from a 'Tempest'(we had 'exausted' all the Catalina parts by then).The next(and last) time,she sideswiped a bridge during a snowstorm,wipeing out the entire right side.The ins co. just pd Dad some cash,told him to "keep the car".She drove it till she was married.Her new husband provided her a 'nice' car.Mom drove it some afterward some and inbetween' kids.Dad finally sold that car to a college girl for $300.She was seen years later still driveing that car!
