I'm gonna go ahead and say I highly doubt it'd work. You'd have to seal it off everyday you grab one to feed, or else it'll all spoil if you can get it to work out at first.
We plant some oats & peas, and then chop it and either bag it by itself or mix it with 1st or 2nd crop, depending on when it's planted and when we cut it. Putting it in a bag works great for us.
