I bought a can of peanuts Friday. The local TSC had a bunch of the Christmas candy type of stuff on sale. The peanuts came in a Tin type can with an old style lid. They where $9.99 marked down to $2.99.
The can reads: "As International Harvester's helpful home economist Irma Harding brought expertise to the preservation and enjoyment of wholesome foods in the post World War II America."
There is more written but the closing is:
" Proudly brought to you by the Whitley's Peanut Factory"
Has Made in the USA on the can too.
The peanuts are supposed to be: " Select super extra large Virginia Peanuts"
The peanuts are salted but not crazily so like some and they seem to be not as oily as Planters and others.
I just bought them because they where cheap. 20 ounces of peanuts for $2.99. I did not notice the can or writings until I got them home.
The can also had the IH logo on it in several places. I just found the whole thing to be kind of neat. I also had never heard of Irma Harding either. Do any of you guys remember her and IH doing food stuff???
