Larry; I don't know your locale, but my latest puter purchase was from a computer recycler. They acquire outdated college/business units, clean the hard drives, install anti-virus software, etc. and the general public can purchase these at great prices. For Ben's needs, and most folks, something along these lines is affordable; something a care facility could look into also.
Gets my dander up that the law-breakers in the cross-bar hotels get computers, televisions, libraries, exercise equipment, etc. and that comes at OUR expen$e. Some punishment to breaking the law. We send billion$ of dollar$ to countries who despise this nation and Ben can't get computer access and tutoring...I'd best stop or the POOF button might be used. I don't know whether to spit tacks or cry.
When my late dad was at a nursing home, high school students were often bused in and did volunteer work at the facility. If such activity were available, computer tutoring for Ben and others would be a wizz for these young folks. Maybe contacting the local 4-H agent in your county and mentioning a great volunteer opportunity for youth could help Ben and others across this country.
It is post election time now but some politician could have made hay with this issue, possibly seeking available grant $'s residents of care facilities...those folks know how to use the media.
Gettin' a little long winded on this but...Ben, hope you are able to join in on the YT Forums and chime in about 'red iron'. I also admire your affection for your wife...something a lot of the younger folks don't seem to have the devotion for.
And as for you Larry... a blue star and an 'atta boy'
