Brazing can work if it's completely clean and oil free but you absolutely have to build up the brass about 3 times as thick so it will handle the same pressure as the stronger steel line. Just sealing the leak will blow out almost instantly. O/A welding or TIG welding could also work but is a little(or a lot) more difficult. Another method short of getting a new line made is to have the bad section cut out, the ends flared and a short section of hyd. hose to join the 2 ends. Did that on my Cat with no problems on a main hyd. line going to the backhoe. It was a long 3/4" steel line with complex bends that I'm guessing would have cost well over $500 from Cat.
