yeah, when there's ICE! Last year no ice at all. First time in my life I ever remember not being able to get out on the ice. This year is a little better, but not by much.
Still haven't been out, but will try this weekend.
Normally we're hoping to get out right after thanksgiving.
I'll stick in my losing bass picture. During a derby - $1000 prize for biggest bass. All fish had to be in by 4:00pm. I didn't get a single flag all day - absolutely nothing - cold, snowy, windy, miserable day.
Nobody had much luck - biggest bass in the running were all tiny.
Air horn blows at 4:00 - and it's like the horn set off the flag. Literally less than a second after. (you can see others packed up moving out in the background)
It was a good enough fish for that pond, but had I caught it two minutes earlier, I'd have been $1000 richer.
