Yamaha RT360 Enduro. Rode that thing all over Northern Japan while stationed at Misawa. Comfy and powerful enough for middlin' long road trips, nimble enough for off road playing.
Honda XL500. Rode that one all over the Panhandle of Florida while stationed in Pensacola. Same deal - roadworthy but still decent for off-road.
Yamaha XS650. Absolutely without question my favorite road bike. Bought a new one in 1974, rode it for 8 years in 3 states and one foreign country (Japan again).
A year ago this past October I finally found another one after 3 years of looking. Got a '79, overhauled it last winter and rode the heck out of it this past summer. Doing a little fine tuning this winter and looking forward to another summer of fun with it.
To the feller with the Kawasaki 500 Triple: I know what you mean. Friend of mine had one, we swapped bikes for a day. I've ridden a couple of fast bikes, but that thing scared the willies out of me.

Today's Featured Article - Earthmaster Project Progress Just a little update on my Earthmaster......it's back from the dead! I pulled the head, and soaked the stuck valves with mystery oil overnight, re-installed the head, and bingo, the compression returned. But alas, my carb foiled me again, it would fire a second then flood out.
