What you have is a 1977 Economy Power-King garden tractor. If its stuck in 4th gear the shift fork or rail is worn. The four speed trans was not built as good as the old 3 speed. On the four speed trans. the gears were spaced close and if they got a little wear one could strip the gears out real easy by getting it in two gears at the same time. I know for last year I completly rebuilt one and put in about $1,000.00 dollars worth of parts, not counting my labour.
