A lot of junior high school students nade them in the late 40s early 50's. I made a couple that only my mom apprecited the craftsmanship. My coping saw cost me 40 cents and the blades were 5 cents each, My mom bought me an Estwing leather handled hammer for Christmas. I still have the hammer. My best source of materials was cabbage boxes from the grocery store. Thanks for bringing back those memories. That was the only hammer I had for several years so I used it to work on my tractor

There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard.
