From the looks of your garden, produce, and the farm land around your garden it would be a shame to lose that productive ground. I am opposed to the wholesale development of good farm land. There seems to be little imagination when it comes to building. There are always odd corners, little brush lots, steep areas, etc. that can be made into a building lot, without destroying good land, or big fields. I have built two houses in farm country, but didn't lose any productive ground. I think you did the right thing. Besides- you'ld be lost without all that garden produce!
