I grew up in Medina. . . I was an "east-sider" though in Granger Township. I moved about an hour south to what Medina used to look like. I drive thru the area now and again and do not recognize most of what is there. Still get a kick out of driving by Bohattie's (spell?) place next to the Walmart. The city has been trying to get him to clean his yard up (its a tractor junk yard) forever but as far as I know he is still there. All the little stores do not stand a chance to the volume and variety of the big chains. When I was little Weymouth Pantry was still in business but it has been looong gone. In my "new" spot we still have The Polk Store and Gerwigs, great little family run places that still have the older/retired folks sitting at a table/hanging out reading the paper. Dont want to get too sentimental but its a small world when you can find someone in your same area in this vast cyberspace discussion board.
