Got an ice storm in MN yesterday. Thought it looked cool, so went out and took about 100 pics. It was cool all right - about froze my fingers (which makes me think maybe I don't really care if I ever get wintertime junkyard shots). Power stayed on - we were glad of that!
I included the iced branches and the iced ground pics... because I just know RBnSC will love them. Sorry, no corn shucks, Ron! :)
Actually included them for those who may never have seen an ice storm. The grass is just crunchy - it sounds cool when you walk around on it. My pinky is intentionally in the one photo to give some perspective of the thickness of the ice. It is fairly thick, though we have had thicker in the past.
The pics before & after the tractor seat closeup are both grass. One a closeup of the grass, one showing what it looks like when you walk across the lawn and crunch up the iced grass. It's fun to listen to. So are the trees, they just moan, crackle and snap in the wind. Thankfully, we did not get much wind or we'd have broken branches all over the place.
