I am puzzled by several statements in your post. Could you please help me understand it better?
You state the energy input to ouput is 1:1.3 which would be a gain of 30%. This seems like a good thing? Do you know how this compares to the conversion of crude oil to gasoline - is it less?
I understand that ethanol has less energy than gasoline but gasoline has less energy than diesel. Why is it bad for ethanol or is gasoline also bad?
Lastly what are the tax dollars used for ethanol - all the credits have been phased out that I am aware of? There is a blending mandate but no tax dollars....?
