I don't do dairy, but I do plenty of hay (to sell) I've tried to get locals interested in working for me. Offered as much as $15 an hour. No takers. I don't think any amount would get most people off their duffs and on a hay rack. But...I CAN hire Mexican labor (all documented, legal, and paying taxes) who will not only work, but work HARD. I pay them well for their services. I'd gladly pay "Johnny" down the road, but he's set on becoming the next chairman of GM @ age 16, and willing to sit inside and play video games until they call. Instead. "Juan" will show up early, work late, and do the work of 10 "Johnny's" for a realistic wage.
So what do you expect?
Yep. It's a sad testimony to todays youth, and to the generation before them that instilled their work ethic (lack there of) but reality IS reality.
Bottom line, the very least I expect when I pay a good wage is to have someone who'll show up (on time) and work for what they earn. Maybe when little Johnny starts to get hungry enough, he'll lay down his X Box controller and show up for work. Until then, Juan get's the paycheck AND my gratitude.
