That being said, While I firmly believe that everyone who commits a crime should be punished in some way, If that is the only crime he has ever been convicted of, fifteen years in prison seems a bit extreme when compared to the sentences that I see handed out for drug peddlers and murderers. Just last week a local man charged with robbery and murder was allowed to plea bargan to a lesser charge of common law robbery and voluntary manslaughter, to which he was sentenced to NOT MORE than eight years and nine months in prison with credit for the twenty months he has spent in jail waiting trial.
