Pieter Pieterse Hagawoud,born in dijkhuizen under ruinewold build the left side of this house op Staten island around 1697. he was already established on the island before 1677.He wedded in 1683 Dirickje van Egbert van Midwoud in "Bergen(prob her hometown),they had 11 children. He died in 1716.
The original dwelling was brick and 22' by 60',it had 2 rooms.
The pic dates from around 1900 and belongs to RF Baily(the last sentence is english allready so no need to translate)
Dijkhuizen is a village in the neighborhood of Ruinerwold in the province Drente in the Netherlands.
Ruinerwold was prob the castle of the local vasal.
Bergen is a town close to the northsea coast in the Province North Holland in the Netherlands.
