Ralphwd45, I Never buy New!!!! Been married 22 yrs About every 4 to 5 yrs something goes out. Scrap the pair, look in Craigslist, Thrifty Nickle and buy a well cared for top load washer, and front load dryer pair, with basic controls. In the $400 range. I figure I am dollars ahead in this game Haven't had a pair not make at least 4 yrs! Figure it takes us about 26 weeks to pay for it and after that it is just gravy, Haven't been sorry yet! Go price Brand New! See what I mean. I usually buy from some local guy who gives a 30 day warranty 4 weeks that is time enough to figure out if it is solid or not! From time to time most folks use a local washiteria figure what you spend there, and divide that into the cost of a New or Used pair and see which ones pencils out quicker! Maytag sold out to some other company so they are No longer maid by Maytag corp. Go buy a whirlpool or something else. Hope this helps. Later, John A.
