Well, some facts are evident in regards to the untimely passing of the young man whom was an employee and great friend of the farm.
He left a note stating that he did not want anyone to blame themselves and that he made the decision to do this on his own. Apparently while out to dinner with his family the previous evening, he excused himself just before everyone was ready to leave, went out to the car, was not feeling well, same thing the next morning, said I'm not well, not going to school, then took his life.
I was told, there was either 2 or 3 more suicides of the same age teens, whom he did know from the same area, not same school, in the following days, might have been 2, I can't find any info on those people, but there is a possibility of a pact. Also still a possibility of something gone wrong with a girlfriend, which can be tough on some young men, similar to what has ruined many a person while serving or working away, not realizing there are so many others out there, instead focusing on one person, like no one else exists, kind of a bad break up or similar. I think the pact has more validity, and understand the mechanics of the latter, but no one even remotely suspected anything, not one clue or reason. His dad stopped in Sunday to visit with my father, which he did often while Andrew was finishing up in the barns.
So the point of this is the awareness of these teen suicide pacts, its the single most bizarre thing I can think of, some kids can mask anything, you'll never know. I do not know anyone who would even think of doing this, at that age, more interested in sports, chasing the ladies, mechanical things, hunting, fishing, farm life, and so many other things. Thinking back to those days, and those years, which were really not all that great for me given the jerks both parents were back then enamored in there own lives and exhibiting resentment of me often (long story)no way I'd have considered it, ever. Even if bullied, my focus was on fighting to win or overcome the problems, which is human nature, and is why I just can't figure out what makes young people do these things. My advice is pay good attention to your kids. Today is the funeral, and his family sure could benefit from the thoughts and prayers of others.

Today's Featured Article - Product Review: Black Tire Paint - by Staff. I have been fortunate in that two of my tractors have had rear tires that were in great shape when I bought the tractor. My model "H" even had the old style fronts with plenty of tread. My "L" fronts were mismatched Sears Guardsman snow tires, which I promptly tossed. Well, although these tires were in good shape as far as tread was concerned, they looked real sad. All were flat, but new tubes fixed that. In addition to years and years of scuffing and fading, they had paint splattered on
