well, Maytag and amana, kitchen aide and a couple others are all owned by whirlpool. We had whirlpool made kenmores that lasted 16 years with no issues but Dryer finally quit.. too many burnt wires to trust it again so we found end of model year pair of high efficiency maytag (bravos??) top loader & dryer combo for same/less $ than the 16 year olds. 2 years with no issues but did get the extended warranty.
Used to work for a company that made parts for GE and Frigidaire. won't even look at either of them. made in mexico now anyway.
Hate to say it but we just bought a new frig and went samsung... HATE to not by American or even North American (Mexico) but they all had a junky feel to them in the store... (of course they all have chinesse parts inside too)
