We have a 45' wide front porch with 163 spindles It's been in place since 1998 which now is 15 years. We repainted it when it was 7 yrs old and again at 11 yrs old. I see some spots now that are peeling off already. I used implement paint with hardener last time after clearing off all the old paint. I figured if it stays on tractors it would stay on the porch railings. For the most part it has held up well even where the sun hits it the most. We will be going with a plastic rail next time. No more wood!
