And right here at least the assessors have caught the same disease. As long as we still have the antiquated horse & buggy property tax, assessors could do a service and try to keep values realistic. They were so far behind, and couldn't keep up for so long, that now they have gone the other way. There are several big, old farm houses, in rough shape, on approx. 1.5 acres each, on this road. They are assessed in general for around $95,000. About half that would be more appropriate, then the other half could be spent making the place livable.

There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard.
