Best thing that could have happened. He more than likely was not worth much to start with. HE ask a price and you counter and he accepted. HE has the issue not you.
If this was years ago they where not the hot property they are now. I bought and sold a lot of real nice ones for $7500-8500 for years. Then about ten years ago they took off in value. Now they will bring up to 20K in original condition. More if restored.
