My friend and his father have invited me to the hunting cabin for 20 years, Last year was the first time I had time to go,and I went again this year. We went friday afternoon,I was busy last week at night we made the ground venison for some of the food during the stay at the cabin. My friends dad is 84 years old, when the hunting club was founded in 1946 he was one of the group of guys who scratched up some money to buy 50 acres that sits in between state game land and state park land. There is a long road leading to the cabin. Originally a shack was built as a hunting cabin, then in 1961 the cabin in the picture was built all by hand by the members with used materals,Pa said the cost was eight hundred dollars !The best part of going was talking with Pa ,he had many good stories .When the club started he was the youngest, now he is the oldest living member. This get together at the cabin is an anual tradition known as the walk in party because it is held on the third weekend in february and many times some have to walk in ,if the snow is to deep to drive in. We had plenty of good food, venison burgers, chile, spagetti and venisonburger meatballs, etc .,etc My friends brother, and cousin with banjo and guitar, and guess who with harmonica? I took some pictures of the stream at he bottom of the hill and we did some nice hiking in the woods. I dont drink much, but when I saw some of the guys climb out of the bunks this morning I was glad I dont drink much! The last picture is Pa at the cook stove. A good weekend, with some good memorys.

Today's Featured Article - Listening to Your Tractor - by Curtis Von Fange. Years ago there was a TV show about a talking car. Unless you are from another planet, physically or otherwise, I don’t think our internal combustion buddies will talk and tell us their problems. But, on the other hand, there is a secret language that our mechanical companions readily do speak. It is an interesting form of communication that involves all the senses of the listener. In this series we are going to investigate and learn the basic rudimentary skills of understanding this lingo. ... [Read Article]
