I use an old generation 1 binoculars to spot pigs at night. It's not that great just by itself but I found a guy on ebay that sold 800 nano infrared lens and would custom cut them for under $20. I had him cut a lens to match my 2 million candle power spot light that I took a piece of inner tube and stretched it over the lens and housing of the spot light to hold the lens on tight. Now I can light up the country side while looking though the night vision. It puts out hardly any visible light, just a little bit of red glow if you can see that even but through the night vision it's just like seeing everything if you were using the spot light normally.
That's how we spot the pigs in the pastures anyway. Then we get downwind of them and walk right up to them. If I have hunters I'll position them and then pull the lens off to light up the hogs, or if I'm by myself I put the night vision down and switch on my scope lights for taking out as many as I can. We kill allot of pigs this way.
