Well, jimont should get the prize! I looked in my "Ford Trucks Since 1905" book and lo and behold there is a picture of one COE Ford and an attached trailer loaded with 9N Fords. This is the caption under the picture:
"The year 1940 was marked by a number of Ford Tractor/Ferguson System spectaculars, the foremost of which was the shipment of 29 trainloads, starting January 13th. To facilitate delivery of the new machines, E&L Transport of Dearborn employed a fleet of carriers such as this, consisting of specially bodied 158 inch Model 018W/098W Ford C.O.E.s and 4-wheeled tongue-towed trailers. By year's end, the Ford Motor Co. tire plant at Rouge was producing tractor tites as well as automotive type."
