I have a TX gator that I bought new about 5 years ago. It has been a good gator. It does not have the roll cage. They are a little hard to start. You have to use the choke and let it turn over a few times and then they seem to start right up. My other gators start up with just one turn, but the TX requires the choke when it is cold. But I have had no problems or issues with the TX. There are only two things I do like about it: It is very hard to mount a hitch on the back of it and the suspension on the rear is not that good. It has almost no suspension and makes for a rough ride if you are going aways on it. The $5,500.00 is about what I paid for mine 5 years ago. Also, I should mention that it gets very good gas mileage. Mine has tractor tread on all 4 tires. They have been very good tires. If you have any other questions, you could answer here or you can send them to my email address: fatbob50@yahoo.com. Hope this helps, Bob
